「働かないオフィス」をコンセプトにつくられたオフィス。BIRTH WORKと呼ばれるコワーキングスペースと連携しながら、コミュニケーションに特化したオフィス機能の実験場（LAB）としての役割を持つ。本来オフィスがもつ「働く」という主な機能性を剥ぎ取ることで、日々の大半を過ごすオフィスおいて「働く」という機能性以外がもつ生活の原動力を浮き彫りにしたいと考えた。 デジタルファブリケーションによって切り出された合板の木パネルによってパタパタと組み上げられた大きな棚、またその棚を突き抜ける照明を計画した。家具スケールの木の板が有機的に組み合わされ、大きくなることで都市にまでスケールアウトしている。 この大きな家具が人と人との繋がりを生み、各々のビジネスを更に飛躍してくれると嬉しい。

This office was designed under the concept of a “non-working office.” In collaboration with the coworking space BIRTH WORK, it serves as a laboratory (LAB) that experiments with office functions focused on communication. By stripping away the primary function of an office “to work” the project seeks to reveal the other sources of vitality that daily life in the office can generate.

The design features a large shelving structure assembled from plywood panels cut with digital fabrication, with lighting fixtures piercing through it. Furniture scale wooden panels are organically combined, and when scaled up, they extend outward, almost to the scale of the city itself.

This oversized piece of furniture fosters new connections between people, with the hope that these interactions will inspire each individual’s business to grow and evolve.
