間仕切りの無い1ルームの中に、18種類のテーブル、65種類の椅子、9種類の照明、10種類の植栽を配置した。それらの組み合わせは約10万通り。膨大な経済ニュースを取り上げ続けるNewsPicksの多様な世界を感じられる場所を目指した。全て不定形の曲面家具で平面が構成されており、方向性や使用性を曖昧にしている。自然の地形のように、決められた場所や使われ方が無く、各々の判断の中で、好ましい場所や働き方を選択できる状況がつくられることを目指した。 ここを訪れる人々との更なる掛け算によって無限の可能性が生まれることを期待している。

Within a single open room with no partitions, 18 types of tables, 65 types of chairs, 9 types of lighting, and 10 types of plants were arranged. The possible combinations amount to nearly 100,000 variations. The aim was to create a space that embodies the diverse world of NewsPicks, a platform that continuously delivers a vast range of economic news.

All of the furniture is made up of irregular curved forms, rendering orientation and conventional usage ambiguous. Like a natural landscape, the space has no predetermined places or functions, instead, it encourages each individual to choose their preferred spot and way of working according to their own judgment.

Through further “multiplications” with the people who come here, the hope is that infinite possibilities will emerge.
