銀座の外堀通りに面する一階に、カジュアルに立ち寄れるフレンチバルを設計した。浮造りした杉材に金属塗装を施し、その羽目板を縦方向に重ね張りした。エントランス側からみると木目が消え、金属質な凹凸が浮き上がり、キーストンプレートのような工業的な表情を見せる。一方、店内側に入ると浮造りの木目が際立ち、杉材の温かみのある表情を生み出している。鉄骨と木造のハイブリッドである建築に合わせ、無機物と有機物の間のような素材感をつくった。格式高いフレンチとカジュアルなバルの間にある、架け橋のような店舗を目指した。

This project is a French bar on the ground floor facing Sotobori-dori in Ginza, designed as a place to casually drop in.
The walls are clad in vertically layered panels of cedar finished with a ukiduri (textured) surface and coated with metallic paint. Viewed from the entrance, the wood grain disappears, leaving only metallic ridges that evoke the industrial look of keystone plates. From inside, however, the textured grain stands out, bringing out the warmth and natural character of the cedar.

Reflecting the building’s hybrid steel and wood structure, the finish creates a material expression that lies between the inorganic and the organic. The aim was to design a restaurant that serves as a bridge between the formality of French cuisine and the casual atmosphere of a bar.
