都市公園における民間資金を活用した整備手法Park-PFIによる公園活性事業の一部として計画された移動型の小店舗。法的には建築ではなく車両であり、後部にはナンバーが付けられている。2.5ｍ×3.7ｍの小さなボリュームは最小限の小店舗として公園に常設される。それは車と分類されるけれど、建物のように屋根があり壁があり窓があり、また車道を軽快に走り回れるほどに車でもない。車以上、建築未満の何か、である。ただ、その何者でもない何かであるがゆえに公園という公共的な場所に滞在することが許され、食事や飲み物を提供することができる。何者にもなれなかった曖昧な存在は、その者にしか実現できない機能性を獲得し、新しい小さな街をつくり始めている。

This project is a mobile micro store planned as part of a Park PFI initiative, a public-private partnership scheme for revitalizing urban parks. Legally classified not as a building but as a vehicle, the unit carries a license plate on its rear. The compact volume, measuring 2.5 m × 3.7 m, is permanently installed in the park as a minimal shop.

Although legally a car, it has a roof, walls, and windows like a building, yet it is not mobile enough to be considered a true vehicle. It exists somewhere “beyond a car, but less than architecture.” Precisely because of this ambiguous identity, it is permitted to remain in the public space of the park, providing food and beverages.

This undefined presence, neither fully car nor fully building has acquired a unique functionality that only such ambiguity can allow, becoming the seed of a new, small scale urban community.
